Mossgreen is an Australian gallery that now is dedicated to the exhibition and sale of private collectors, and will give another great opportunity to those who collect famous and demanded paintings since September 27 to October 14 en Melbourne.
If you want to sell or exhibit some work that you have kept at home, this is the ideal date to do so. To this day, there is a vast amount of paintings to exhibit, including a specific painting, "Suburban Window, 1987" by Howard Arkley, a 160 x 121 cm painting with acrylics on canvas. This work is fundamental and one of the most famous in the career of the late artist, since his paintings with suburban themes were the dominant, and this work was his main icon, which the author first introduced in Roslyn Oxley in September 1987 - where it was listed as "Suburban Landscape" - but, four years later the name would be changed to "Suburban Window", and would be auctioned in Melbourne in a few years.
In the painting you can see a window with yellow curtains, a white dog with brown spots, a vegetable field and a person with a wheelbarrow full of what appears to be dirt in his hands, with a white flannel and blue pants. It is a sublime work of art, dating back to the environment in which the artist grew up, who was born in the suburb of Melbourne Surrey Hills, the May 5 of 1951, of Jewish origin.
In addition to this work, the exhibition will count with an unquantifiable number of famous works and new ones, which although they do not have the fame necessary to be remembered with the naked eye, can delight the vision of any expert.
Here we leave you the list of all the works that you can find until October 14 in the Mossgreen Gallery of Melbourne, Howard Arkley Auction with its respective author and some of its details.
